“It’s not a Barn Find – it was never neglected. It’s not an up from the ashes restoration – it was always cared for and preserved. It’s not a former race car, nor a former factory show car found in a little, old lady’s garage.”  Cherished and preserved by all four owners all of its life, owned at one point by a GM Milford Proving Grounds Engineer for twenty plus years until selling it to the current owner. Recent Frame off restoration performed by Corvette hall of fame inductee Werner Meier at Masterworks in Michigan. This L89 is a perfect representation of what can happen when a car is cherished and preserved.  Displayed at all the Major shows and the National Corvette Museum it was the subject of a major magazine article.

Very Rare, only 390 1969 L89’s were built. 1969 was the last year for the L89 option, general consensus is less than half of the L89 production was Convertible. Optioned with – N14 side exhaust 1969 was the only year the option was available in a C3 Corvette, F41 Special Purpose Suspension, G81 3.70 Ratio Positraction, J50 Power Brakes, K66 Transistor Ignition, M21 4-speed Close Ratio Manual Transmission, N37 Tilt-Telescopic Steering Wheel, white Stripe Tires and AM/FM Radio. This 427/435HP Aluminum Head L89 is one very special vehicle and could well be a one of one car optioned as it was built, unfortunately GM production records do not carry that detail.  It was special ordered by the original owner and purchased new at Van Camp Chevrolet in Milford, Michigan. This car also has its original GM issued Window Sticker and protect-o-plate. NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold and MCACN Triple Diamond Certification, are the highest single event awards available.

Born with original engine and drive train presented as it was built, cherished and preserved, low mileage, four owners, extremely rare and desirable, GM factory paperwork, awards from NCRS, Bloomington and MCACN. It gets no better than that.
