Awards: Several NCRS Regional and National Top Fight Awards over 97, NCRS Regional Performance Verification award, NCRS National Top Flight and Zora Arkus-Duntov Mark of Excellence Award. This award was created by the National Corvette Restorers Society, in honor of Zora Arkus-Duntov The first Chief Engineer for the Chevrolet Corvette, who retired from General Motors in 1974. The Duntov Award recognizes individuals for the restoration and preservation of 1953 -1974 Corvettes.. To achieve this coveted award, an owner must attain a judging score of at least 97% out of 100 based on an original "as manufactured" standard at a National or Regional NCRS event; as well as present the car for a rigorous performance test of all vehicle mechanical components and functions, all of which must operate as those of a new car, without a single failure. Finally, the car must again score at least 97%, at a National NCRS Convention, to receive the Duntov Award. The process of achieving the Duntov Award requires attendance at a minimum of three events, and must be completed within a three year period. First owner exported vehicle to Switzerland in 1967 and retained ownership until 1988. Second owner was a champion hockey player, playing club hockey in Switzerland, where he bought the car and then exported it to Canada. Third owner purchased the vehicle in August of 2001. Original motor was replaced in November of 1963, documentation complete with copy of the original title and all export and import documents to Switzerland and Canada. Fourth owner had a refurbish performed by Tony Avedisian co-author of the definitive Corvette RPO Z06 publication. The Duntov Award was earned prior to refurbish which is a testimony to the cars authenticity.
